Zara Waldman DeLuca

Zara Waldman, PhD, CCC-SLP (she/her/hers), has devoted her clinical and research practice to working with children aged 0-5 years, primarily children with hearing loss. Dr. Waldman is dedicated expanding access to language and literacy in a variety of modalities, and working across communities of ability to embrace all forms of communication through equitable assessment practices. Dr. Waldman also identifies as a sib, or sibling of a person with disabilities. She is the founder and facilitator of the Southern Connecticut Sibshop (a monthly group to support youth sibs), co-lead of the CT Sibs (a chapter of the Sibling Leadership Network to support adult sibs), and her research investigates family relationships in the context of disability and inclusive communication through recreation.

With a passion for the outdoors, Dr. Waldman is also an adaptive coach with Summit Adaptive Sports, holding certifications in ski instruction from the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA), adaptive paddlesports from the American Canoe Association (ACA), and adaptive coaching through Move United.
