Biography

Michael Laughlin earned his doctoral degree from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. He held positions at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and William Paterson University prior joining the faculty at Southern Connecticut State University in the fall of 2022. Previous employment includes teaching physical education, adapted physical education, and special education, and assistive technology specialist. A former division II collegiate athlete at the University of Charleston in West Virginia, Dr. Laughlin's research focus on adapted physical education policy, assessment, and social justice pedagogy centers on promoting and facilitating a physically active culture and lifestyle for those that identify with disability. In his free time, Dr. Laughlin enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the outdoors.
