Biography

Matthew Rothbard has been an athletic training program faculty member in the Department of Health and Movement Sciences since 2008. He received his Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Athletic Training and Physical Education-Teacher Certification from Towson State University, his Master of Science degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Athletic Training from Michigan State University, and his Doctor of Education degree in Instructional Technology with a specialization in Instructional Leadership from Towson University. Matthew teaches athletic training courses related to injury and illness prevention, clinical examination and diagnosis, immediate and emergency care, therapeutic intervention, healthcare administration, and professional responsibility. In addition to his long-standing and active membership in national, regional, and state athletic training organizations, Matthew’s athletic training clinical practice includes experiences with NCAA Division I football, basketball, and lacrosse teams, and high school athletics. His research involves the comparison of traditional instructional strategies with those using digital technologies.
