Biography
Dr. Powell earned her Ph.D. in Education from the Culture, Curriculum and Change Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to completing her doctorate she worked as a first grade teacher as well as a site coordinator for the Children's Defense Fund Freedom School in Durham, North Carolina.
