Biography

Dr. Jess L. Gregory, Department Chair, is a Professor in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Department at Southern Connecticut State University, where she teaches courses in staff development, leadership, learning theory, research design, and quantitative methods. Her research centers on student engagement and teacher evaluation; focusing on trust, power, motivation, urban education, instrument development as well as teacher attitudes towards inclusion. Dr. Gregory was honored with the 2015 J. Philip Smith Outstanding Teaching Award for Teaching and the SCSU Board of Regents Teaching Award in 2016. Jess, an alumna of Dartmouth College (AB Classical Studies), earned her MS in Environmental Education from SCSU and taught Chemistry for 10 years in public schools in CT.
