Biography

Dr. Andrew M. Richmond is an Associate Professor of Medieval British Literature at Southern Connecticut State University, where he teaches courses on early British literature, ecocriticism, and composition. His research concentrates on representations of landscapes, waterscapes, and the environment in late medieval British romances and ballads, as well as the poetry of Geoffrey Chaucer and John Gower. His other interests include game studies and digital humanities, in particular the portrayals of nominally medieval environments in modern video games. He is thus currently developing new courses on "Medieval Literary Environments" and the "Politics of Premodern Landscapes in Video Games."
